The Golden Batter Rule

Once per game, a team may send any hitter in the lineup to bat in any spot. The goal: get your best hitter up when the game is on the line.

The hitter whose spot was taken stays in the game but does not bat that time. If the Golden Batter’s own spot comes around while they’re on base, the displaced hitter becomes the pinch runner. The Golden Batter can technically bat back-to-back in the same inning if the team chooses.
