The 11 Rules of Banana Ball (Overview)

Banana Ball has 11 unique rules designed to keep the action non-stop and fans entertained from first pitch to last out:

  1. Win the Inning, Get the Point — each inning worth one point to the team that scores more runs
  2. Two-Hour Time Limit — no new inning starts after 2 hours
  3. No Stepping Out — stepping out of the batter’s box is a strike
  4. No Bunting — bunting results in ejection
  5. Batters Can Steal First Base — on any pitch, on a passed ball or wild pitch
  6. No Walks Allowed — ball four becomes a sprint; all fielders must touch the ball
  7. No Mound Visits — no visits from coach, catcher, or any player
  8. Fan Catch = Out — a fan who cleanly catches a foul ball records an out
  9. Showdown Tiebreaker — multi-round tiebreaker if tied at the time limit
  10. The Banana Ball Challenge Rule — each team gets one challenge, plus a fan challenge
  11. The Golden Batter Rule — send any hitter to bat in any spot, once per game
