Banana Ball lineups have 10 spots, including both a Designated Hitter (DH) and an Extra Hitter (EH).
- DH: If the DH enters defensively, they continue batting in the same lineup spot, but the pitcher must bat in place of the substituted defensive player
- EH: Can enter defensively at any point and return to the EH role with no penalty
Teams may also designate:
- Designated Runner: May enter to run once per turn through the batting order; becomes eligible again when the lineup resets to the leadoff batter
- Designated Fielder: May enter any inning at any position; their role ends permanently if they take an at-bat or replace a player in the starting lineup
